Pligg 9.8.2

Pligg engine stands behind of many “voting enabled, social” web2.0 sites, the much known of them is digg.com. Today I tried out the pligg 9.8.2 beta engien, which is the current released version at the moment (except svn of coause).

I’m impressed about pligg functions, and configuration posibilities, so i think i can use pligg in my future project. But I’m not impressed by the current version. Of cause it’s beta version, but we know other kind of betas (e.g. google applications) that do not breaks on every second click. And if you decide to install some additional plug-ins on this version, be aware, it can make, the situation only worthiest.

Unfortenytely I can’t use this version productively. I hope the Pligg people will soon fix existing bugs in next betas, or even they will makes us happy with very stable version 1.0.

By the way, does anybody know when pligg version 1.o is planed to be released? I read somewhere just meaningless “hopefully soon”. :(

P.S. The default template of pligg looks bad too, but that is another story.

We’re quite sure you’ll be impressed, as this will clearly be the best version of Pligg yet. The next release, Beta 9.9.0, will be one of the last ‘beta’ releases before version 1.0. We’ve developed many new free modules that have expanded the abilities of Pligg. Anti-Spam modules that help reduce spam submissions and spam comments. A CAPTCHA module will allow you to choose from different CAPTCHAs or even use none at all. There is a new Template Manager module that allows templates to be installed with the click of a button instead of downloading, unzipping and uploading each file
