Hi,

I tried to activate your plugin on my blog, but wasn’t able to as it showed

“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”

I am on WP 2.7.1, running Vigilance theme.
I had the same problem with Popularity Contest plugin.

Ca you help?

Hi, I love this plugin, however can I check how can I have more than one instance of the “Most Popular” widget, as I have 2 dynamic sidebar, one as postsidebar, the other mainsidebar.

Is it also possible to call up the most popular post in a non-widget area? You can take a look at the footer of http://neowster.com.

Any reply is greatly appreciated.

I received the following error when trying to activate the plugin:

Table ‘furnitur_wrdp1.wp_ak_popularity_options’ doesn’t exist on line: 116

You wouldn’t by any chance have any ideas on what might be causing something like that, would you?

widget_wpopular should be widget_wpopular1

Thank you for comment. This may indeed lead to problems on some PHP configurations.

I’ll will rewrite the activation routine in the next version, because there are new concepts designated for that in WP since version 2.5.

hi,

i downloaded and installed your plug-in and wasn’t able to activate it. it was searching for tables which did not exist. after messing around with the php-file i managed to get it running.

i changed line 1626 to this:
if (isset($_GET['action']) && $_GET['action'] == ‘activate’) {

in 0.9.3 the variable “activate” was checked whether it is true or not.

Hi Dan, you can include so called template functions of the Plug-In in your WordPress template.
Here are some self explanatory examples.

akpc_the_popularity();
akpc_most_popular();
akpc_most_popular_in_cat();
akpc_most_popular_in_month();

By the way, these are taken unchanged from the original Plugin (Popularity Contest by Alex King)

Hmmm to my eyes this should not be a problem… if a popularity contest was deactivated before.

But if you could tell me a version of Popularity Contest and your WordPress, I could spend some time to investigate that constellation.

I too get the same error as Famously Unknown.

I’ve previously attempted to activate Popularity Contest, but it’s not currently running.

Any ideas?

It should not happen, if you did download W-Popularity in version 0.9.3 and not 0.9.2 .

If you sure that you’ve done everything correct, maybe some conflicts to other plugins are present on your WordPress?
Maybe you did forgot to shut down other popularity plug-in? Maybe it’s some exotic one… No other ideas so far. Maybe you have some error log?
