Look at this! It’s incredible!

Don’t know them?

The first one is the actual President of Russian Federation – Dmitry Medvedev, the second one, is the latest Russian Tsar -Nicholas II. Nicholas II was executed by Bolsheviks in 1918.

However I found this similarity very funny but also somehow strange. Maybe beacuse of history. Nicholas II stands for last moments of non communistic Russia . History has made Nicholas II and his whole family (which was executed too)  very symbolic. It’s difficult to explain. However very strange for me.

P.S. As you see, I’m back again, have much to do, so has to wait few days or even weeks :(

I found this picture here

[partly translated from Korean] Dear Friend. Russian Emperor Nicholas II and familys's assassination history represents the end of the shelters. ... As a tragic success of criminals and orthodoxy .. should ensure the survival of the country for now. But intellectuals devoted to the extreme of circumstances... [/partly translated from Korean]

@englishkin When Medvedev became the president and no one really knew who he was, this similarity was truly remarkable and I had similar impresion like you. Even Medvedev's appearance and themes were less combative, and often meant well thought out and honest (he gave himself as a man of Progress), he was not realy accepted in Russia, and most recently derided as "blogger". After the "strong" Putin many of russians can't accept Medmedev, because there are still many people wishing a strong leader for "mother russia". They combine a strong leader with a strong Russia. A strong Russia that can play in world affairs. Even if Russia is behaves like a "bear in the china shop" it does'nt matter. The abbility to be present in the world and to give "strong answer" to the "West" matters, not some more quite and evtl. more elaborated solutions. That beacause nowadays they told people again that the foreign countries (es. USA, UK an s.c. "West") playing plays against Russia. So everything is about Oil that Russia has. Simply argumentation that works ever. As Medvedev proposed Putin as next President instead of candidation of himself it was done to his image. Even the rest of "intelligenzia" revealed the puppet role of Medmedev. The nex period for Russia is Perion of: Putin - Rasputin. And I can well imagine that Medvedev can get forgotten quickly.

I thought I was the only one who noticed the striking resemblance! Because of the President's uncanny resemblance to the late Tsar (albeit without the beard), I'm always startled when I see President Medveyev's picture when he's with the Russian tricolor flag that was the flag of the Empire before its collapse to the Bolsheviks, and with the Imperial coat of arms that modern Russia has readopted as its state coat of arms. I have to blink, take a double take and verify that it's not some colorized photo of the late Tsar being shown when President Medveyev appears in such photos. The high quality and in-color news videos usually indicate to me that yes, indeed, it is modern but, it seems bizarrely and sometimes eerily as if the late Tsar has somehow reappeared on the Russian scene as if the Bolshevik Revolution somehow failed and the Tsar resumed control (and somehow hasn't aged) and is still on the throne!
